Communications that makes people care.

I help mission-driven organizations turn complex ideas into clear, human stories through communications strategy, digital content, video, campaigns, and creative production.

I've spent almost a decade working at the intersection of communications, storytelling, media, and organizing. My background spans international humanitarian communications, nonprofit advocacy, video production, digital campaigns, journalism, and community-building.

❋ Communications Strategy

❋ Digital & Social

Social media strategy, digital campaigns, newsletters, web content.

❋ Storytelling & Editorial

❋ Brand & Messaging

Voice, positioning, key messages, creative concepts.

❋ Video & Multimedia

Creative development, producing, scripting, interviewing, field production.

❋ Creative Production

Turning an idea into something people actually encounter, online or in person.

Action Against Hunger

Building a data-driven social and video strategy

The challenge

When I joined Action Against Hunger USA, the organization wanted to significantly expand its social media and video work, but neither area had a strong strategic or measurement framework behind it. Social performance data lived across different platforms, making it difficult to understand what was working or make informed decisions over time. On the video side, there was also a gap between the kinds of stories fundraising teams needed and the capacity of country offices to produce them.

My role

As Communications Officer, I helped build the systems behind both areas. I created a centralized performance database bringing together data from Google Analytics, Meta, TikTok, and other platforms so we could track trends across channels and evaluate content more systematically.

From there, I helped establish an experimentation process using A/B testing, competitive research, and ongoing performance analysis to refine what we published and identify where Action Against Hunger could distinguish itself.

For video, I worked across fundraising and international country teams to identify storytelling gaps and translate donor interests into concrete content needs. Because many field teams had limited experience producing video, I also trained staff on interviewing, shooting, story structure, and execution so they could create stronger material themselves.

What I made

  • Cross-platform social media performance and analytics system

  • A/B testing and content experimentation framework

  • Social and competitive content analysis

  • Video strategy tied to fundraising and storytelling priorities

  • Training and production guidance for international field teams

  • Video and multimedia content developed with country offices

The result

Social audiences grew 10–15% year over year, with consistent month-over-month growth across major platforms.

On the video side, I helped build a stronger pipeline between fundraising priorities and stories from the field, while increasing production capacity across the organization. I trained communications staff across 7 country offices to produce stronger video content themselves, giving teams more ability to respond to storytelling needs without relying entirely on centralized production.

Democratic Socialists of America

Creating a shared brand for a rapidly growing national organization

The challenge

As DSA expanded rapidly from a relatively small organization into a national network of chapters and organizers, communications became increasingly decentralized.

Designers, chapter leaders, and volunteers across the country were creating materials independently, which made it difficult to maintain a consistent visual identity and shared communications approach.

My role

I worked with designers and illustrators to help create DSA's first national design guide, establishing shared standards for visual identity and giving organizers around the country practical resources they could use without needing a professional designer on staff.

We also developed a centralized online resource where chapters could access logos, fonts, colors, templates, and other design assets. DSA's public design guide still functions as a resource for national identity, campaign design, content creation, and chapter materials.

The challenge wasn't only visual. I also worked directly with chapter leaders on communications strategy, interview preparation, messaging, and talking points so that a decentralized network could communicate more consistently while still allowing local chapters to operate independently.

What I made

  • National visual identity and design guidelines

  • Centralized library of brand assets and templates

  • Communications and messaging guidance

  • Media and interview training for chapter leaders

  • Systems for distributing communications resources across a decentralized organization

The result

The work created a shared communications infrastructure that could be used by organizers and designers across the country, giving chapters a consistent visual and messaging foundation while reducing the need to reinvent materials locally.

The current DSA design resources still emphasize national identity standards, downloadable assets, templates, and tools intended to help chapters create consistent materials.
